Quintin was born in Colchester, Essex, in 1974 and raised in the nearby town of Manningtree, but now lives in rural Aberdeenshire, Scotland. He spent much of his early life around the Dedham Vale 'Constable Country'. While he studied Geology at university, gaining a PhD in carbonate sedimentology, art has remained a lifelong passion and he has recently taken to pursue this professionally.

Inspired by the natural world he expresses its allure through oil paints, adopting a traditional realist style. His work delves into nature's beauty, from intimate studies of flora and fauna to expansive landscapes and seascapes, with a focus on capturing Scotland’s natural diversity. He invites viewers to embark on a visual journey through the rich tapestry of our natural world at every scale.

In addition to displaying work in exhibitions and galleries he offers work on a commission basis. Work has been sold internationally. His Scottish landscape ‘Uist Squall’ was purchased by Her Majesty Queen Camilla, and in 2018 The Wildlife Trusts used the Balmoral Estate landscape ‘Morning Muick Meet’ as a 70th Birthday card for His Majesty the King (the then HRH The Prince of Wales).
